The generous donation is part of Elan’s Across the Country Charitable Giving program
Pillar Credit Union has been selected to participate in Elan’s Across the Country Charitable Giving program. As one of randomly selected partners, Pillar was able to choose a local charity to receive a generous $12,500 donation on their behalf.
“We selected the Peace and Freedom Committee (PFC) as our charity beneficiary,” stated Pillar’s President and CEO, Vidya Iyengar. “Their mission and purpose align well with our own ‘people helping people’ philosophy. PFC’s mission and hands-on work impressed us last year when we offered the 790 Kenton Avenue building for their use. They have done an awesome job in maintaining the building and providing much needed services to people in the community. I am glad we nominated PFC and we’re proud of their accomplishments.”
“Our organization has benefited greatly from the funding received through Pillar,” explains Dana Booker, President of the Peace and Freedom Committee. “We have updated the building’s interior with a fresh coat of paint and purchased furniture, equipment, and Wi-Fi service. These updates have enabled other community organizations to enjoy the PFC building for their meetings. Next, we will purchase laptops for computer classes, launch mentoring classes, and open a co-working space.”
“Elan is honored to provide the Marion County community with this donation on behalf of our partner Pillar Credit Union to support young adults in developing skills that can help them personally and professionally for years to come,” said Aaron Melnarik, Elan Vice President and Director of Client Relationships.
