Elan recently partnered with Northwest Bank and Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity for a meaningful day of service dedicated to strengthening communities and creating brighter futures.

Together, volunteers helped build a five-bedroom, three-bathroom ranch-style home for a local family. The team spent the day preparing wood materials, constructing gables, and installing roof decking and sheeting, contributing critical work to move the project one step closer to completion. Once finished, the home will provide safe, stable, and affordable housing for a family of six through Habitat for Humanity's homeownership program.

For Northwest Bank Regional President Travis Simpson, supporting Habitat for Humanity was a natural fit.

"We chose Habitat for Humanity as our Elan Charitable Giving recipient because their mission aligns very closely with ours: providing housing and a commitment to neighborhoods within our communities," Simpson shared. "When our neighborhoods succeed, we succeed."

The volunteer event is part of a special milestone year for the Elan Charitable Giving program, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026. To mark the occasion, Elan is hosting five volunteer events across the country to further support charitable organizations selected by its financial institution partners. The Habitat for Humanity build represents the fourth of those five events.

In addition to volunteering, Elan presented Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity with an additional $10,000 donation, bringing Elan's total contribution to the organization to $20,000.

The day served as a powerful reminder that meaningful change happens when organizations come together in service of a common goal. Through hands-on volunteerism and financial support, Elan and Northwest Bank are helping Habitat for Humanity continue its mission of ensuring everyone has access to a decent, safe, and affordable place to live, where children and families can thrive.
