As part of Elan’s charitable giving program, Across the Country, $12,500 was donated to Brenden’s Friday Backpack on behalf of our credit union partner, Members 1^st Credit Union.

Brenden’s Friday Backpacks supports the community by providing single-serve, kid-friendly meals to children who may otherwise be without food over the weekend. Each bag contains food for three meals per day plus a few snacks. Every week, over 1,400 children, across 68 schools, receive easy to prepare, non-perishable meals throughout Jefferson County, Missouri.

Vicki Tamboli, president of Brenden’s Friday Backpacks, shared “We are grateful to Elan and Members 1^st Credit Union for their generosity. These funds will provide approximately 15,000 meals for local children who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend.”

“We’ve partnered with Brenden’s Friday Backpack to hold kid-friendly food collections in our offices for several years now. We chose to work with them because of the tremendous need in Jefferson County. They are a wonderful and dedicated organization.” added Cindy Hynes,  Marketing Manager of Members 1^st Credit Union.
