The generous donation is part of Elan's Across the Country Charitable Giving program.

As part of the Across the Country Charitable Giving program, Elan Credit Card partner Heart O’ Texas Federal Credit Union (HOTFCU) selected the local chapter of Communities in Schools (CIS) to receive a $12,500 donation to support their Community Youth Development initiative.

The Community Youth Development (CYD) program at CIS provides juvenile delinquency prevention services to youth between Bellmead and Waco, Texas. Participants have access to services including youth leadership development, mentoring, academic support, and the Youth Advisory Committee.

Marie Hines, CYD Program Coordinator, stated “The funding will help support CYD needs which include curriculum and program design, supplies, equipment, transportation to community events, and youth-facilitated workshops. The funding will also allow CYD to increase community events for our students, families, and community to learn about local resource opportunities.”
