Elan partners with PYMNTS to research credit card mobile app usage

December 9, 2019

Elan partnered with PYMNTS to conduct a survey asking consumers about their usage of credit card mobile apps, the apps used to monitor and manage credit cards. The survey uncovered 53.3% of all respondents have downloaded mobile card apps, with 77% of those aged 18-24 doing so. Consumers who have such apps tend to use them frequently, as 60.7% report using them at least a couple of times per week.

Transaction alerts and fingerprint login options are the most compelling card app features. Transaction alerts were named by 21% of respondents as the most important mobile card app feature, and fingerprint login was named by 19%.

The report also explored other desired credit card mobile app features and generational differences in card app usage between Gen Z, millennial, Gen X, and baby boomer consumers.
