DESERT SCHOOLS FCU & ELAN CELEBRATE $100 MILLION MILESTONE
PHOENIX, Ariz. & MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- May 2009 --- Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, in partnership with Elan Financial Services, surpassed $100 million in portfolio balances.
“In the nearly three years since our partnership began, we experienced record growth and results that have exceeded our expectations,” said Jeff Meshey, executive vice president for the $3.2 billion CU.
"This is an example where Elan works with our partners to identify where we can work together to leverage unique marketing opportunities," said Deanna Corona, Elan senior vice president. "It is the willingness of our partners to work collaboratively with Elan and try new promotions and sales ideas that make the programs successful."
Carlos Pacheco, senior vice president for Desert Schools advises other credit unions looking for third party issuers to seek out partners that offer a wide array of products and a similar commitment to member quality service. “Through our partnership with Elan, everyone gets involved; from senior management to call center reps to the front lines, everyone is aware of the member benefits and solutions available with our credit card program.”
Together, Desert Schools and Elan developed and executed a comprehensive credit card launch program, such as:
- Elan’s unique “Prescreen of One” online tool that pre-qualifies new members for a credit card at the time they open a new account.
- Successful “Win Back” direct mail campaigns helping convince card members who use the older issued card to switch to the new Desert Schools/Elan credit card.
- Other marketing activities including creative branch tactics, strong involvement in quarterly promotions and ongoing direct mail campaigns.
