DESERT SCHOOLS FCU ADDS 32,000 CREDIT CARDS TO PORTFOLIO
Celebrates 2-year anniversary with Elan Financial Services
PHOENIX, Ariz. & MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- July 17, 2008 --- Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, in partnership with Elan Financial Services has added more than 32,000 credit cards to their portfolio totaling more than $64 million in balances in just two years.
Nationally, at a time when many credit unions are reviewing credit card portfolio options, Desert Schools is setting the standard and best practices for other credit unions working with third party issuers.
“We have been pleased with the ability to offer a wider array of products and services to our members through our partnership with Elan,” said Carlos Pacheco, senior vice president for Desert Schools. “The card designs allow us to differentiate ourselves from other offerings while dedicated member support services from Elan help maintain an excellent member experience.”
Deanna Corona, Elan’s senior vice president, believes that the expertise and dedication within both organizations to provide a quality credit card program is evident. “Desert Schools is a great example of how a strong partnership with an integrated marketing program can provide significant growth and great value to credit union members.” Corona said.
Together, Desert Schools and Elan have developed and executed a comprehensive and customized marketing program. Marketing activities included an exclusive promotion to launch the program, strong involvement in quarterly promotions and ongoing direct mail campaigns.
Elan also provided the “Prescreen of One” online tool that pre-qualifies new members for a credit card at the time they open a new account. Another customized program included a “Win Back” direct mail campaign designed to convince card members using the older issued card to switch to the new Desert Schools/Elan credit card.
“Desert Schools is looking forward to year three as we refine the program and offer our members the best value in the industry,” said Pacheco.
